I have recently added separate head images for each of villagers. It’s still a draft/prototype, so in full version they would for sure look different (polished for sure, but hairstyles and other features may be added/removed) – but from now on it would be easier to distinguish each person.

New in-game map
Since I’m closer and closer to finish all features in a form which they are playable (yet bugged), I’ve started to update some graphics and prepare some new ones.
As a test of final graphical style, I’ve made prototype of in-game map of Bloomfield island.
Quests being added
After successfully introducing few first cutscenes, now it’s time for Quests – as some of them causes special scenes, and some are completed after seeing one of them – so those systems co-exists.
There were few other things finished in recent month.
Intro added!
Today, I reached some important milestone on road to first playable alpha. I’ve finally implemented proper intro for Farmtastic Life!
It yet need some text adjustment as some dialogues takes half of screen, and then also some more touches when layout for town and houses is ready, but it’s enough for alpha version!
Farmtastic Life isn’t my first attempt to create Farming Game.
In fact, I’ve started to working on first one back in 2003 – 21 years ago! It was named Farmer Fran, which of course was reference to TV Show in Harvest Moon: Back to Nature. I was using GameMaker 5.3 for it’s creation – a same tool that I’m using nowadays for FL.
Items Quality
With new year, I’ve started to work on “items quality” Feature.
Game would offer 6 different qualities of items (with only 3 available on Zen difficulty, as it need to be easier in every aspect).
I wish to finish this feature before half of January, and then to start work on building upgrades.
Boo!
It’s time to prepare for winter!
The field will be covered with snow, but that’s when there is the most free time for development…
Spring has sprung!
Ready for spring?
What else can be sown besides turnips and potatoes?
Follow Farmtastic Life on Twitter!
While game is still in dev and it is still some time left until in enters beta stage, you can follow it on Twitter to be up to date with development – as website will rather offer more official and bigger updates about development.
